The number of tourists in Bulgaria will increase this year

The number of tourists who will visit Bulgaria will increase by 8% in summer 2012, announced Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev. Dobrev and Deputy Minister of Tourism Ivo Marinov visited the International tourism fair Cultural Tourism in Veliko Turnovo. The fair was held from April 19th until April 21st 2012.

Russian tourists in Bulgaria this year will increase by 20 % due to the fact that Russians with Schengen visas will be free to access Bulgaria. The tourism industry in Bulgaria generates 15 % of the GDP and it continues to develop in spite of the crisis.
